Updates 2000 and beyond...

Colleen Foy (‘00) appeared in the major motion picture, There Will Be Blood, and shares two scenes with the movie’s star, Daniel Day-Lewis. Colleen, who lives in Hollywood, has also been featured in the CBS show, Criminal Minds, and in several national commercials for Verizon and Arbor Mist.

Michelle Streets (’00) recently completed a dietetic internship at UW-Green Bay and is now a registered dietitian at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Michelle graduated cum laude from UWGB with a B.S. in human biology, with an emphasis on human and nutritional sciences and a minor in chemistry. She is engaged to be married and planning a 2009 wedding.
Michelle writes, “Thinking back, I would have never envisioned this to be my career while I was at Dominican, even though Mr. Schriener always encouraged me with the sciences. However, I very much appreciate my experience at Dominican and wish it nothing but the best in the future.”
- Meghan Halley (’00) is a Ph.D./MPH graduate student in medical anthropology and public health at Case Western Reserve University. In April, Meghan received the University’s Ruth Barber Moon Award, which is presented annually to a graduate student who has demonstrated academic promise and leadership abilities. Meghan also received an award from the National Science Foundation to attend its Summer Institute for Research Design in Cultural Anthropology at Duke University.
- Kelly Kiedrowski ('00) graduated from UW-Madison in 2004 from the School of Business/Marketing. She has been living in Brentwood, CA since 2006 with her toy Yorkie, Peanut, and works for Walt Disney Home Entertainment (DVD"s) - North American Brand Marketing.

- Luke Leonhardt (’00) attended Boston University's College of Fine Arts and graduated in 2004 with his B.F.A. in theatre studies. In addition to honing his acting, he trained with some of the top fight directors RDin the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD). During his BU school career, he spent a semester in London, England, and traveled through Ireland, Wales, Spain, Paris, Amsterdam and all over England. Upon graduating in ‘04, Luke took a holiday with his family to Thailand and Myanmar and then moved back to Milwaukee. Since his return, he has performed in 10 professional theatrical productions with several theatre companies, including the Milwaukee Rep, Chamber Theatre, Next Act, The Skylight Opera Co., First Stage Children's Theatre and Milwaukee Shakespeare Company. He has also directed area high school, community and professional theatre company productions. He can be seen in several local commercials and industrial films, as well as some modeling work. Luke will marry his fiancé on Aug. 3, 2007.

- Beth Rottler (‘00) was recently promoted to Senior Configuration Analyst at api software, inc., in Hartford, WI.
- Kathy (Berg) Johnson (’01) and her husband Josh now live in Athens, GA, where she works in administration and graduate advising at the University of Georgia – Athens. They are expecting their first child in August.
- Laura Halley (‘02) graduated with honors from Alverno College in May 2007. In August she moved to New York City, where she works with Good Shepherd Volunteers, the volunteer arm of Good Shepherd Services, founded by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd in 1947. Laura lives in community with other volunteers and works in Manhattan at Euphrasian Residence, a diagnostic center for adolescent girls in crisis.
- Derrick Wimmer (‘02) has signed with the National Basketball Association Developmental League and was allotted to the Sioux Falls Sky Force, the NBA affiliate of the Charlotte Bobcats and Minnesota Timberwolves. Derrick played college basketball for both Chicago State and UW-Milwaukee.

Laurel Cutright (‘03) will graduate in May 2008 with a certification in secondary education/social studies from the University of Minnesota - Morris. She did her practice teaching this spring in Melbourne, Australia. Upon graduation, she plans to go to Yellowstone to work a summer job in the tourist industry and then start her career in teaching come fall.

Riley Dearholt (’03) was featured in the June 2007 issue of Northshore magazine as one of the area’s youngest collectors of vintage cars. At age 22, he has amassed an impressive roster of vehicles, including a red and white 1958 Corvette and a rebuilt metallic green, cream-striped Excalibur Cobra. Riley, of Mequon, is the former co-owner of the Mosaic Bar on Downer Avenue.

Ryan Lackey ('03) was featured in a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story about what's it like to prepare for the violence, danger and constantly changing situation in Iraq. Ryan and the rest of Milwaukee-based Fox Company of the 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines have been at the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command center in Twentynine Palms, CA since Sept. 17 training for the battalion's second deployment to Iraq.

Helina Medhin (‘03) is a second-year law student at UW-Madison. Helina received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 2006, where she majored in political science and minored in globalization studies, graduating in three years.
- Chet Kiedrowski ('03) graduated in Dec. from Kettering University in Flint, MI with a degree in mechanical engineering. Chet started working for Buell Motorcycle in East Troy in January.

- Katie Kiesow (’03) graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business from Cardinal Stritch University in spring 2007. Katie’s love of theatre, which was nurtured during her involvement in over 10 DHS productions, has continued. While attending Stritch, she performed in a student-directed musical review. Katie also served as the assistant director of the Jeff Schaetzke tribute event held June 16. She resides in Port Washington.

- Nora Foshager (’03) graduated in May 2007 from UW-Madison with a B.A. in political science. She is the Education & Outreach Coordinator at Advocacy and Benefits Counseling for Health, Inc., a Madison-based, nonprofit public interest law firm that helps disadvantaged families obtain health care coverage and services. Nora hopes to return to school in a few years to pursue a graduate degree.
- DeAngelo Trotter (’03) was featured in the Summer 2007 edition of Marquette Magazine as one of four graduates from the Marquette University Class of 2007. DeAngelo received his B.A. in electrical engineering and plans to go to attend graduate school at Marquette this fall to pursue a degree in engineering management. In the story, he notes: “One of the proudest accomplishments of my life was having the opportunity to attend college…I never thought that I was going to be able to attend any college because I grew up in a rough neighborhood. With the help of my family, particularly my grandmother, I was able to overcome the odds.”
- Max Vice-Reshel ('03) is a member of the Varsity Men’s Crew team at UW-Madison, where he studying is economics. He qualified in summer 2006 for the U.S. National Crew Team and competed for the United States in the “23 and Under” World Championships in Belgium where his boat placed sixth.
- Demi Omole (’03), a senior at UW-Madison and co-captain of the university’s track team, was named the Big Ten Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Year after leading UW to its fourth consecutive conference outdoor title. Demi won his fourth consecutive Big Ten outdoor 100-meter title, his first 200-meter title and ran the anchor leg on UW’s 400 relay team, which won its fourth consecutive title. No other Big Ten Athlete has won four titles in the 100-meter or 100-yard dash. He will leave UW with 11 Big Ten titles. Demi was also featured in “Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd” for winning the 60-meter dash at the Meyo Invitational on Feb. 3. Demi’s time of 6.55 seconds was the fastest collegiate time in the nation and tied for the sixth-fastest time in the world this indoor season. On Feb. 26 Demi led his team to its seventh straight Big Ten Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship at Indiana’s Gladstein Fieldhouse by winning the 60-meter dash and setting a new Big Ten record.
- Reginald Anderson (’03) graduated with honors from Dominican University.
- Cari Corozza (’07) has been awarded a $12,500 Rath Distinguished Scholarship from the Wisconsin Independent Colleges Foundation (WICF) for the upcoming school year. Cari is currently a freshman at Cardinal Stritch University majoring in Spanish. She is also a member of the Stritch varsity volleyball team. As part of her studies, Cari will participate in a 3-week immersion experience in Mexico this spring.
