  • Chris Burgard (’80) lives in California and works in the film industry. He recently directed a documentary entitled, Border, which looks at the consequences of America’s failure to secure its borders. Read more about it at: www.bordermovie.com
  • Anne Marie Finley (‘80) announces with joy the adoption of Anastasia
    Helen on Valentine's Day, 2008 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Anne Marie is Vice
    President, Government Relations for Celgene Corporation and lives in
    Virginia.

  • KT (Schloegel) Rusch (’81) was featured in a Dec. 29 front page story of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel regarding her upcoming trip to the Drepung Loseling Monastery in southern India.  KT has provided a stipend to support a Tibetan Buddhist monk for the past 14 years and was invited to meet the monk at the January dedication of the monastery’s new prayer hall.  The dedication was presided over by the Dali Lama.  KT indicated in the article that she’s long had an interest in Asian religions, having first studied them at Dominican.  KT, who remains Catholic, is an artist and musician who resides in Mequon.  She has three children, one of whom is a currently a freshman at DHS.

  • Mia Jaekels Vlaar (’81) lives in Vail, CO and is the executive director of the Vail Jazz Foundation. Mia and her husband Hans Vlaar, a native New Zealander, have four children - Ryan (16), Tessa (13), Julia (9) and Luke (6).
  • Joyce Timm-Witzel (’81) graduated last May from Grand Rapids Community College with an associates degree in art. Joyce also holds an associates degree in Applied Science with a major in Early Childhood. She plans to attend the University of Western Michigan starting in fall 2008 with hopes to one day be a Special Needs Teacher.


  • Brian Bowen (‘82) and wife Lisa welcomed their fourth child - Audrey Anna - on June 21, 2007. Brian and Lisa are also the proud parents of Sam (age 7), Evan (age 5) and Grace (age 3).

                 



  • Kristin Charlton (’83) is the Manager of Market and Business Development for Bemis Corp.-Contract Group of Sheboygan Falls, WI. Kristin earned an MBA in 1997 and has been in a series of ascending positions most within the contract medical device manufacturing market. She is also on the Board of Directors for two organizations - a health care services company and the non-profit Wisconsin Association of Lakes. Kristin and her husband Brian Kellett are active in the UW-Stout Foundation. They make their home in Bridge Creek, WI.

 

  • Jodell (Hackbarth) Quamme (’83) and husband Jeff have lived in Deerfield, WI for the past 14 years. They have two girls who are in high school. For the past five years, Mary has owned a custom machine embroidery business with a retail location on Main Street in Deerfield.   • Marquis Hines (’85) was recently selected as WIAA Coach of the Year. He led Milwaukee Vincent High School (24-1 record) to its first WIAA Division 1 State Championship.
  • Dawn (Blaine) Odom (’85) teaches parenting skills and child abuse prevention to first time mothers as part of the Healthy Families program at the National Children's Advocacy Center in Huntsville, AL. Dawn received her B.S. in Behavioral Science from Athens State University and spent six years in the US Army stationed in Texas, Kansas and Puerto Rico. She has two daughters ages 20 and 13 years old.

  • Kim (Glasl) Duea ('87) and husband Mark welcomed Maggie Marie Duea on January 15, 2008. Maggie joins her sister Elsa (7) and brother Leif (3). Kim lives just outside White Bear Lake, MN. She enjoys staying home and raising her three children along with two donkeys named Pete and Pat.

 

  • Kathryn (Katie) Oberhauser Klingberg (‘87) and her husband Rob welcomed their third child, Peter Florian, on June 22, 2007. Baby Peter joins his big sisters Lindsey, age 6, and Mollie, age 4. Katie continues to work as a family practice physician in Minneapolis at a Hennepin County clinic that largely serves the uninsured and underserved.

 

  • Michael McDonald (’87) and his wife Haley welcomed Gavin Myles McDonald on May 24, 2007. Gavin joins his sister Jordan and brother Devin. Michael lives in Midlothian, TX (a suburb of Dallas) and is a registered professional civil engineer working in Fort Worth.

 

  • Gigi (Becker) Marteney (’87) lives in Phoenix, AZ, with her husband Rick and works as a mental health therapist. They plan to adopt a baby girl from China within the next year.

  • The Class of '88 will hold its 20-Year Reunion on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the North Shore American Bistro, 4515 N. Oakland Ave., Shorewood. Volunteers are encouraged to contact Colleen (Monaghan) Palmer at 414.406.0402 or e-mail: palmer4some@yahoo.com.
  • Jenny Donovan ('88) married her husband Kurt on February 16, 2008 in West Bend, WI. The couple are moving to Germantown, WI where they bought a new home.
  • Beth (Lefebvre) Martinez (’88) has been living in Denver for the past 15 years. She married her husband Steve in 2004 and together they have three children – Joey (2) and twins Danny and Kelsey, born Aug. 7, 2007. Beth is enjoying being a stay-at-home mom.
  • Colleen (Monaghan) Palmer ('88) accepted a position with GE Healthcare this past fall, leaving Muzic in Motion where she was a sales manager for the last eleven years.  Colleen lives in Milwaukee and her family is active at St. Matthias Catholic School where her two sons are in first and second grade.  Colleen has volunteered to arrange the 20-year reunion for the Class of '88 and notes she has a strong group of former classmates to assist her.
  • Kirk Spano (’88) lives in Muskego with his two children, Joshua and Kayla. Kirk was one of the founding members of Annex Wealth Management which he now works with from his office in Elm Grove. His primary responsibilities are to manage finances and investments for families and small businesses. He has a specialization in Socially Responsible Investing and planned to launching a new website at www.Investorideals.com in late 2007. He is also a partner in Wisquote Insurance Services at www.Wisquote.com. If you would choose to obtain or replace your life insurance through Wisquote, Kirk will make a donation to Dominican equal to 10% of your annual premium.



  • Julie Cosich (’89) was recently promoted to Market Development Director at HUI in Kiel, WI and serves on the board for AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence). Julie resides in Grafton, WI with her daughter Elizabeth (Ellie), a third grade student at St. Francis Borgia School in Cedarburg. Julie serves as the cookie mom for Ellie's Brownie troop and is actively involved with the school and church. Julie notes that she is meeting lots of Dominican alums through Ellie's school.

 

  • Kathleen K. Newcomb ('89) married Robert A. Moakley on July 2, 2006, at Lake Park Bistro in Milwaukee. After 15 years of marketing, public relations and events experience for such organizations and individuals as the Betty Brinn Children's Museum, Sonoma County Museum, Milwaukee Brewers and Shania Twain, Katie started her own business in May 2006. Katie and Robert live in Battle Creek, MI, where she also assists with marketing and community projects for her husband's business, Battle Creek Harley Davidson.

 

  • Kelly (Kasum) Ressel (‘89) works part-time as a veterinarian in Mequon.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from St. Norbert College and a veterinary degree from UW-Madison.  Kelly and her husband Ted (’89) live in Cedarburg and have two children. 

 

  • Kristine (Roesch) Webster (’89) works as a payroll associate for Monster Worldwide, Monster.com in Milwaukee and also sells for Pampered Chef.  Kris has two children - Kyle (8) and Morgan (5).  She loves to play soccer and plays twice a week for the Women’s Soccer Club.
