For a Dominican student, it starts in grade school. Our admissions process assures that DHS is the right fit for a student.

How to Apply

Freshman Application

If you are seeking freshman admission to Dominican, contact the DHS Admissions Office at 414.332.1170, ext. 130, to pre-register for an upcoming entrance exam. All prospective students must complete an application form. (Note: The Dominican entrance exam may not be required if you have already taken an entrance exam at another Milwaukee-area Catholic high school. Please contact the DHS Admissions Office about alternate application procedures.)

Upon taking the Dominican entrance exam, we will request copies of your student transcripts and standardized test scores for 7th and 8th grade. Once individual student files have been completed with all necessary and requested data, the Admissions Committee, (consisting of the Principal, Vice Principal, Guidance Director and Admissions Director), will meet to review each file and determine the admission status of each applicant. This usually occurs about one month after the entrance exam date.

Early Admission Program

By applying for Early Admission, you are able to be accepted to Dominican in October.  If you have a strong 7th and 8th grade academic record, solid standardized test scores, and receive good recommendations from your teachers, you may be admitted early. Although 8th grade students still must take the entrance exam, Early Admissions will allow students to know if they are admitted before the test.  The scores for the placement test will be used to help students select their freshmen year courses. Transfer Students

If you are applying for transfer as a current high school student, please contact the DHS Admissions Office at 414.332.1170, ext. 130. There are no required entrance exams; however, transfer students must complete a transfer application and submit current transcripts.

Whether you are an incoming freshman or a transfer student, once you are formally admitted you will receive details from Dominican regarding course enrollment and procedures for the upcoming school year.
